Getting Thankful

After a tough morning with the girls alone shopping (Natalie was wanting some type of toy or other item bought for her), it was good to try and refocus. To do that, we started on Thanksgiving celebrations. In the new Clubhouse Jr magazine (thanks to Grandma & Grandpa!), there was a recipe for turkey sandwiches. They were really cute (although the ones in the mag were done much slower and looked much prettier). The girls were hungry after shopping, so I worked fast!

We'll do these again...they were tasty as well as cute.

Natalie liked the next thing, opening up peanut butter cups in prep for the Pilgrim Hat Cookies. These were super easy. All that I needed to do was whip up some frosting and cut up some gummy slices for the "buckle."

Yum! Nicole thought so too!

May we be more thankful even on days that don't start out that way! Thank you, God, for the many blessings you give and how much love you show.

Costumes Everywhere

Wow, we started as a bug, went through as Tinkerbells, and then ended as cats! And, along the way dressed up like vol cheerleaders just to be funny to Poppa! We started at the bug ball. Natalie decided she would be a dragonfly. We decorated a shirt, put faux leather pants on her, and made a headress worthy of a dragonfly. Along with pretty pink wings. Here she is with her class. Most of the class were boys, and were spiders. One boy was a butterfly, Maya was a ladybug, and Addie was a bee. They were so cute (even the spiders!).

We put a butterfly costume on Nicole as well to make her feel at home with all these bugs around as we visited Natalie's classroom. Poppa & Mimi were there as well to celebrate.

The kids ate some bug stew (which was vegetable soup) along with other treats (a spider made of oreos and candy for one). They were hungry and would go from here to do relay races in their costumes.

The next day, it was time to put on the wings again for the costume parade. New costumes for the girls and they were pretty!

There were some activities to do like bobb for apples, but we decided to pass on that one!

They started the parade. Some were on foot, others bike, but most in highly decorated golf carts. You would not believe!

There were also tee-pees out, which I didn't quite connect with Halloween, but the girls enjoyed it. Maybe it is looking forward to Thanksgiving??

Woody & I both dressed up, the first time since we were dating. He was the Lone Ranger and I was Carmen Miranda. I don't think anyone knew who I was!

The girls with Brianna...

Then, it was to Awanas as the cats! They were adorable! Nicole isn't quite ready to leave as we were late but she had just woken from nap.

Happier here with Bo...in another parade!

Natalie went through some games in the gym. This one was an easy one where they put candy on the clip of a mock fishing rod. The kids could not lose!

Here with Caleb and his brother...star wars was here

Other little games included duck picking and ball/frisbee/basketball shooting. They had fun! No more costumes for a while, I guess! Too much candy in the house now anyway!!

What a Miracle!
